CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
ENGAGING COMMUNITY THROUGH BULLETIN BOARD ART INSTALLATION

Frame Projects Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging collaboration between artists of various disciplines, and allowing art to be accessible to the public and individuals of all economic profiles and professions.
We are asking artists and architects of all disciplines to submit designs for Bulletin Boards that will double as public art installations.
Public Art and Community Bulletin Boards “... (create) a sense of pride, excitement, and curiosity for the community to start getting involved and feel motivated to making change.”

The selected artist or artist team will receive up to $1000  to cover labour and $1000  for materials. This project is funded by the Province of Manitoba’s Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.

Submission Requirements:
1.   A letter of interest, indicating your interest and motivation behind the submission.
2.   A curriculum vitae, resume or biography of the artist(s). You must include your full contact information and any other supporting material you would like to include. (website, etc)
3.   An artist statement outlining your experience in public art and community engaged practices. (1 page max)
4.   3-5 images of past artworks, year of completion, and other relevant information.

Criteria
1.     Designs must not exceed 18 sqft in surface area.
2.     A team of artists of one or more may apply, though the honorarium amount will remain the same dedicated amount.
3.     Designs must be able to prove that they will be stable and able to withstand all weather conditions and surrounding activities.
4.     Specific measurements and a list of proposed materials are REQUIRED.
5.     The installation must be completed by October 1, 2014.

Selection Process:
1.   Design submissions are due by August 17, 2014 at 12:00 AM CST.
2.   The submissions will be juried by residents of the Centennial Neighborhood, and active Centennial community organizations.
3.   The design may require minor adjustments to meet all City of Winnipeg requirements.
4.   Once selected, the designer will receive funds for the materials and have approx. 30 days to complete the project.
5.     The full honorarium will be released upon the completion of the installation on October 1 2014.

2.     Remember this is a COMMUNITY BULLETIN BOARD! So find efficient ways for posters and handbills to be posted, seen and removed!
3.     It must be able to withstand extreme weather, including wind, rain and snow! Also, no rust please!
4.     How will the work be protected from graffiti and vandalism? How could it be efficiently repaired?
5.     Is it properly secured to the ground?
6.     Is it family friendly?
7.     Does it inspire creativity? Inspiration? Curiosity for the viewer?

The show introduces ARTIST @ CAUSE -who creates art & culture and CONTRIBUTOR @ CAUSE - a person who collects art, who buys art.
ARTISTS + CONTRIBUTORS = SYMBIOTIC EXISTENCE.
The show main purpose is to strenghten exchange between artists and society. And to cause artist\\\\\\\'s wealth.(artist gain 100% from sales therefore may consider 20% from it to buy another artist's piece for this amount. Or their may consider funding cash awards of $25, $40, $50 and give to their favourite fellow-artists) The show is also to increase AWARNESS of the importance of CREATION in our society.
Each collector (Contributor)- after purchasing a favourite object of art - obtains gold, silver or copper plaque with the following text:

is a collector of art work created by:
(Artist\'s name)

The concept - if continued widely, in other cities - will cause ARTISTS\' importance and ARTISTS\' wealth. It will disseminate Collectors\' importance....worldwide.....
